Now you need to find your family in the vast territory of the post-apocalyptic USSR of the 1980s. Within days, the entire country became a radioactive wasteland – violence, hunger and disease reign here now. That would make the game more immersive then straight up nail making or other. In 1985, the USSR collapsed before an unknown enemy. Yes make the fuel rods be 40 tons, but have only one trip to go. So basically you can dismantle parts in Chernobyl and use the upgraded Kamaz to move them to Mirny IN ONE GO. Yes its gonna be tedious but grinding resources is more fun than finding 20 mil diesel. As well you will need a special robotic arm to extract the fuel rods from the reactor parts at Chernobyl. Imagine this, you have to upgrade your Kamaz with 10k steel and other rare resources for example, 25k lead to keep the parts of the reactor. While I wound make the CNPP parts less of a grind. Thats 10 tons of steel, like 1/5 of the truck itself. He has broken trucks in the mine, then wtf does he need 100k of steel. Dude at Mirny is not hand crafting the truck himself. The thing that surprised me was the huge amount of resources. Like you never have to find a bridge again. Imagine riding in a truck with 200 tons of load, that drives 70 mph on road and 20 mph (ON WATER). I understand what you want to do but this game does not allow it until the end game part. And around that structure you gonna have about 5-6 other permanent structures. You physically have no ability to get 100k steel without building a permanent structure. BUT, after the finish you get to drive around in a nuclear powered haul truck that is the best thing ever (aka the moving city). The final Moving City quest will require so many resources and time that its freaking crazy. Best equipment and weapons (you can look at the pics from my inventory thread) and all the needed buildings. You will need to follow the Searching of Truth quest to Moscow and then reach to Smolensk for retribution quest and then follow the Searching of Truth quest to the first survivor base. If you just started read the beginners tips on the wiki and browse this reddit for solutions/questions. This game requires a lot of grinding (sometimes) and really big and complex buildings. I pretty far into the game and have finished all but 1 quest. Final part: Drive around in a truck with 200 tons of load, unlimited fuel and durability. Middle part: gather items for the biggest quest of the game. Short version: Start of the game find a place for base (Ufa suggested).
